Tixian Connector

A service designed to automate trading strategy execution between TradingView and MetaTrader, then developed into a complete online product.

Context

TradingView makes it possible to design trading strategies and automatically generate alerts when conditions defined by a strategy are met. MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5 can then execute operations on trading accounts, but a bridge is required to automatically transmit information between the two environments. The project started from this problem: creating an intermediary capable of receiving a TradingView signal and automatically forwarding it to the corresponding MetaTrader account. The objective then evolved. Rather than building a simple personal tool, I wanted to design a service that could be used and administered as a genuine online product.

02

The problem

The first challenge was to make the entire process between receiving a TradingView signal and executing it through MetaTrader reliable. The service had to receive webhooks, validate and interpret the incoming information, identify the relevant user and account, and then transmit the order to the appropriate MT4 or MT5 environment. Turning a technical tool into a multi-user service introduced additional requirements: account and access management, application security, abuse prevention, subscriptions, payments, invoicing and administration tools. The project therefore required not only a connector, but the complete product environment needed to operate it.

03

What I designed

I designed the application architecture around an ASP.NET Core backend responsible for receiving, validating and processing webhooks sent by TradingView. When a signal is received, the service identifies the relevant user and account, validates the incoming information and communicates with the appropriate MetaTrader environment to transmit the order. Around this core functionality, I progressively developed the product layer: account creation and authentication, user and administrator roles, dashboard, MetaTrader account management and access control. I also integrated Stripe Checkout for subscriptions and payments. Stripe events are processed server-side through webhooks to automatically keep subscription states synchronized. Invoice generation was automated using QuestPDF. Several application security mechanisms were also implemented, including authentication, two-factor authentication, CSRF protection, Content Security Policy and request rate limiting. The objective was to build a complete workflow, from receiving an external trading signal through to its execution, while providing the surrounding functionality required to operate the service as a genuine product.

My role

Functional and technical product design, application architecture, C# / ASP.NET Core backend and web development, TradingView and MetaTrader 4/5 integration, webhook design and processing, account and permission management, authentication and application security, Stripe payment and subscription integration, invoice generation with QuestPDF and administration tools. I handled the design and development of the application layer from the initial requirement through production deployment and subsequent improvements. The infrastructure and some network-related aspects were implemented with the help of a colleague specialized in network administration.

Outcome

Tixian transformed a focused technical requirement — automatically transmitting a TradingView signal to MetaTrader — into a product capable of supporting the complete workflow required by multiple users. The service brought together signal reception and processing, MetaTrader account management, users and permissions, subscriptions, payments, invoicing and administration within a single environment. The product was deployed and operated online for a period before its hosting was discontinued. Tixian therefore demonstrates my ability to start from a relatively focused core requirement and progressively identify, design and develop the complete software ecosystem required to turn it into an operational product.

In detail

Tixian is a personal project that I designed and developed from the initial idea through production deployment.

The project demonstrates my ability to start from a focused technical problem, structure its workflow and progressively design all the components required to turn it into a product that can be used by multiple customers.

The application layer was developed by me. Some infrastructure and networking aspects were implemented with the help of a colleague specialized in network administration.

The service was operated online for a period before its hosting was discontinued.
